Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Seven Layers (“we”, “us”) handles your personal data when you use this website or get in touch. We are a remote-first studio working with clients worldwide, and we apply the same standard to everyone who contacts us, wherever you are: we collect the minimum we need, we tell you what we do with it, and we honour your rights over it.

Who we are

Seven Layers is a trading name of Aftab Ahmad, who is responsible for your personal data under this policy (the “controller”). You can reach Aftab Ahmad about anything in this policy at hello@sevenlayers.online.

What we collect

When you submit our contact, quote or estimate form we collect the details you provide — your name, email address, phone number (optional), business name and message, and for a quote request the service you chose and the day and time you said would suit you, with your time zone. We do not collect special-category data, and we do not ask for payment details through this site.

Like every website, the servers that deliver these pages see your IP address and basic request details (which page, which browser) as part of sending them to you.

Why we can use it (lawful bases)

Where data-protection law requires a lawful basis, ours are: taking steps at your request before a contract — answering your enquiry and preparing a quote; our legitimate interests in responding to people who contact us; and performance of a contract where you go on to engage us. We do not add you to any mailing list; if we ever offer one, it will be a separate, optional choice.

How we use it

Only to respond to your enquiry, prepare a quote or estimate, and deliver services you ask us for. We do not sell your data, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not use it to build profiles about you.

Who we share it with

These are the services involved, and what each one sees:

• Web3Forms receives what you type into a form and emails it to us. It is how the contact, quote and estimate forms are delivered.
• Cloudflare hosts this website and delivers its pages, so it processes your IP address and request details; it also forwards email sent to hello@sevenlayers.online to our inbox.
• open.er-api.com supplies exchange rates so prices can be shown in your currency. Your browser asks it for today’s rates; the request contains nothing you have typed, only what any web request reveals, such as your IP address.
• Our email provider holds the enquiry emails we receive and the replies we send.

If you choose to contact us on WhatsApp, WhatsApp’s own privacy policy applies to that conversation. We do not sell your data or share it with anyone for advertising.

International transfers

The services above operate internationally, so your data may be processed in a country other than your own. Where we use a provider, we rely on the data-protection terms that provider offers its customers. If you want to know which safeguards apply to a particular transfer, email us and we will tell you.

How long we keep it

We keep a record of every enquiry, so that if you come back we can pick up where we left off and both of us can see what was discussed. If it does not lead to work, we delete it 24 months after our last contact with you. If you become a client, we keep the project and billing records for six years after the work ends, the period accounting and tax records are commonly required to be kept, and then delete them. You can ask us to delete an enquiry sooner at any time, and we will, unless we have to keep it for one of those legal reasons.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or send it to another provider. To exercise any of these, email hello@sevenlayers.online and we will respond within one month.

If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area, you also have the right to complain to your national data-protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office). If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and why, to request deletion or correction, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights; we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA. Residents of other jurisdictions with comparable laws may exercise the equivalent rights using the same contact address.

Cookies & analytics

This site sets no cookies. It keeps four small settings in your browser’s own storage so it can remember your choices: your colour theme, your colour palette, the currency you picked, and a copy of today’s exchange rates so they are not fetched on every page. They stay on your device, are never sent to us, and you can clear them at any time in your browser settings.

We do not currently run any analytics. If we add it, we will use a cookie-free tool that counts visits without profiling individuals, and we will update this page first.
